Paul Hamilton’s quality assurance expertise for electrical components manufacturing spans nearly a decade, with his list of military and industry certifications reading like a Rubik’s Cube of abbreviations. A potentially shorter commute first attracted Paul to Electrocube through a recruiting agency. Then, he read about the Faces of our team. “I got a real sense of camaraderie,” he recalls, and decided to interview for Quality Assurance Manager. He’s been part of the Electrocube family since 2015.
Paul oversees the electrical components manufacturer’s quality control, stockroom, and shipping departments – including the separate Part 145 FAA repair station. He maintains improvements and implementation of AS9100 and ISO 9001, (MRB) authority, and handles all internal and supplier audits. Paul is being certified as an FAA-designated Manufacturing Inspection Representative. He performs final inspections and testing on airborne transformers for the quality control department.
Paul has a passion for quality control, policy and procedures, employee training, and inspections and testing. “The most important outcome of what I do is assuring a high level of quality for our customers,” he says. “My passion is process improvement, doing things in a simpler way. Methods can always be improved even if they currently work optimally; putting a little extra thought and effort goes a long way.”
He focuses on ensuring his team has the proper tools to get the job done in a timely manner by doing things right the first time. This quality conscientiousness comes through years of attention to detail. Paul worked as a Quality Engineering Manager for Rogerson Kratos, an aerospace manufacturing company that designs avionics display systems and cockpit instrumentation devices for commercial and military purposes. His military interests are personal, having served in the U.S. Navy for eight years as an Aviation Electronics Technician, including three years on the USS Kitty Hawk in Yokosuka, Japan.
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in quality assurance and science, Paul spends most of his down time studying. He enjoys a good mobster/heist movie like The Godfather or Goodfellas. But any other free time is spent with his wife, son, daughter, and the family dog – a Chiweenie (a Chihuahua/Dachshund mix). “I enjoy watching my son play soccer and my daughter’s dance recitals. My family and I travel every year to June Lake and hike the Yosemite area to take in the surrounding views of the canyons.”
Paul believes his work can best be summed up in a W. Edwards Deming quote: “Quality is pride of workmanship.”
